Domi doesn't noe
Been a long time since my last post.
6th May 2007,2:15 pm,UPSC office,New Delhi:5000 people. 2 hours.160 questions.80 seats.Concisely put,NLS.
The dreadful period of competitions is slowly waning. As is my hope of getting through somewhere.Sad.
For months now,I've been searching for 8 1/2,La Dolce Vita(Italian) and The Seventh Seal(Swedish).Futile. For instance,
Planet M, EDM:
Me: Do you have any Italian movie?
Salesman: No sir. We don't keep those kind of movies. You can find them in the store across the road.
Me: Look,I'm not asking for Porn.
Salesman: Oh! You want a real Italian movie? As in, one with Italian dialogues in it?
So, After many such futile searches, I finally resorted to the option I knew would fail:Palika Bazar.
For those unacquainted with Delhi, Palika is the biggest grey market in Delhi. From Undies to CDs, everything's fake(Fake undies are a scary thought;not so much with CDs). I went to the nearest not-so-shady-looking store called Electronic Zone. With half a mind to leave, I asked him if he had any Swedish or Italian movie.I knew,a nanosecond more, and I shall see those yellowed teeth leering at me.The response, those golden words, "Haan! Bergman ki mil jaayegi....italian mein movie ke naam batao". I wanted to hug the guy but realised that Section 377 of the IPC is still in force. 1 hour Later: "I met death today; we're playing chess".

Punjabi Songs and The Ultimate Question
The most obscure form of music is punjabi music.I'm not really sure if they genuinely sing in Punjabi or they blabber anything that strikes them.Whatever the case may be,punjabi music has a deeper underlying philosophical tone.I figure Nietzsche,Kant and the other philosophers, who wrote purely to exercise their vocab and ability to write useless stuff and make it look really interesting, would've been influenced by Punjabi music.
Let us not go further into this.
For centuries, scientists have answered questions.Sometimes obscurely(for fear of persecution by the hands of the church) and sometimes openly and simply(for fear of persecution by Dan Brown in his forthcoming 'Robert Langdon' novels). However, there exists a question, which is perhaps even more perplexing than the question of life, the universe and everything. And Douglas Adams has died(else he would've given an answer to this question too:Hopefully something between 45-50 this time;I'm not a big fan of 42).This question, the ultimate question, which holds the keys to the liberation of man,his soul was originally invented in India although it is credited to Thomas Edison(with 16000 patents it's hard not to attribute every invention to him). The question, ever unanswered since the big bang and the medium bang and also the small gangbang which one routinely sees in C-Grade movies,is: Agar hum rupa ki banyan pehnenge,to rupa kya pehnegi?
With these sick words,I leave you to ponder over them(and if you're male, you might as well fantasize too).
